Job Description: Environmental Services Manager (EVS) - Full Time

Location: Porterville, CA 93257, USA
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Hourly Range: $31.44 to $44.03 per hour

Position Summary:

The EVS Manager, under the Director of Environmental Services, oversees the housekeeping and linen functions, ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, visitors, and physicians. This includes staff management, training, resource coordination, and maintaining compliance with infection control standards. The EVS Manager will participate in performance improvement initiatives and assist in policy development. This role requires flexibility to work scheduled hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, and to assist in emergencies as needed under the California Emergency Services Act.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, schedule, and supervise housekeeping and linen staff.
• Train staff on cleaning techniques, infection control, and safety procedures.
• Monitor operations to ensure cleanliness and proper supply management.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and propose process improvements.
• Control department resources, including supplies and staffing, to optimize efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
• Assist with payroll preparation and report submission.
• Participate in emergency response efforts when needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate’s degree or higher preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 1+ year of managerial experience in environmental services, ideally in a healthcare setting.
• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Basic computer proficiency.
• Licensing: Valid California Driver's License and insurance for personal vehicle.

Working Conditions:

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
• Participate in emergency and disaster response as required.
